Committee Meeting
Thursday 17 July 7:30 pm at 39, Lime Street, Nether Stowey
Present: - Sue Davison, Jill Goodwin, Tim Tribe, Dennis Harkness, Louise Parsons, Jenny Haydon.

2.Minutes of the last Meeting and Résumé
The minutes were read and approved LP/DH
3.Matters arising from the last Minutes: Organisation and strategy
3.1 Alison Jarah has resigned from the committee. A gift and thank you card to be sent in appreciation of her work. SD
3.2. BBQ proceeds were £265 and raffle £54
3.3 An e-mail has been sent regarding French lessons- awaiting response from the membership
3.4 School Summer Fair 21 June the event raised the profile of twinning in the village.
4.Membership
Rhu signed up Chris and Helen Putt and their 2 girls at the school fete.
Malcolm and Margaret Hogg have also joined.

7.Events 2008
7.1.12 July Picnic on the Mount
This event was cancelled- there was a suggestion that the Quantock Messenger should be brought to meetings to check for clashes of dates.
7.2.Car Boot Sale
Louise and Rhu have sorted the items, and are ready to go.Ge-Mare farm on August 3rd… 9-00am to set up.Louise to phone BK re van or ask volunteers for cars.

7.3.September Boules Match
Jill has spoken to the Schofields , possibility of holding the match there. They wish to speak to Judith of what this entails before commiting. If not there, then playing field . 2-5pm. Cake stall? JG/MB/JGr
7.4.Quizzes from Sept in hand SD
7.5.5 Oct Quantock Walk ;
Village hall booked 11-3-00pm
Thesea Youe has agreed to lead the short walk.
JG and Alison Hood have agreed to lead the long walk.
Lunch same format as last year SD/JGr – JH has offered to help.
Pastis could be available.

9.2.Shop Window and other Display areas
Same style posters ( A4 headed notepaper) suggested to poss include shop windows, library, and village notice board, this may have greater impact. Possibly updated monthly or when have had an event BK
10.Treasurer’s Report

11.1French calendar, need working calendar ( space to write in ). If asking to participate, needs to be a reasonable price as if too expensive current market may not be able to sell. When ready? Would need by early Nov and poss a sample needs to be seen ( poss by e-mail ). JGr
11.2 Street Fair approved in principle. Look into produce from France and produce from England plus fundraising with a raffle.This item to be returned to in September.
11.3 A card will be sent to send best wishes to Patrick Breyant(Preynat?) in his illness
12. Date and venue of next meeting (Alison can’t make Wednesdays, Sue not the 1st Thursday of the month, Rhu not Mondays or Fridays) No meeting in August.
