Our Twinning Association is based on Nether Stowey, but extends to Over Stowey, and all the surrounding villages.

Nether Stowey Twinning Association was established in 1996 and is twinned with Theillay in the Loir-et-Cher départment of France. The main aims are to enable a sharing of cultures, and to bring people in and around Stowey together for a wide variety of social events, such as country walks, quiz nights, safari suppers, boules matches, treasure hunts, etc...

Families with children are a strong feature of the assocation and consequently family activities feature regularly as well as adult events. Membership is open to all and consists of all ages. You do not need to be able to speak French or like cheese.

Each alternate year members visit Theillay for a long weekend, and Theillay twinning members in turn visit Nether Stowey.. It is the high point of the year and many lasting friendships are made and maintained during these weeks.
